Hessian Identity Management Infrastructure (HeIDI)
The Hessian Identity Management Infrastructure (HeIDI) is a state-wide project that unifies and enhances the digital identities of students, researchers, and staff at all universities in Hesse. The goal is to enable each individual at a Hessian university or institution to access digital services at other Hessian universities using their own university account—such as the account of Goethe-Universität. Instead of having to register separately for each university, a single login will suffice in the future. This service is particularly beneficial for students participating in multiple universities, researchers working on joint projects, or staff attending inter-university events.

The added value of HeIDI lies in simplifying and securing digital access. Previously, users often had to manage multiple passwords and user accounts—something not only inconvenient but also a security risk. HeIDI addresses this issue through a centralized, secure identity management system based on modern standards. A central component is the integration with the "Authentication and Authorization"
