GPT@RUB is a KI chat portal offered by the Ruhr-Universität Bochum to support studying and teaching. It enables students, staff, and faculty to reliably access generative KI models such as ChatGPT, initially based on OpenAI technology. The service supports problem solving, text creation, research, programming, and language practice. Access is provided via personal RUB LoginID and is only possible within the university network. The main benefit lies in the efficient and secure integration of KI into academic processes.

A VPN connection to the RUB is required for access outside the network. - Beta/Pilot status: Not specified. - Restrictions: Guest auditors are currently excluded from using the service. Access is restricted to students, staff, and faculty of Ruhr-Universität Bochum. - Usage limits: A monthly replenished token account is available to all users. Chat histories can be stored for up to 180 days, but are automatically deleted daily at 4:00 AM by default.
