Ausführliche Beschreibung
BayernKI – The central AI infrastructure for researchers in Bavaria
BayernKI is a joint initiative of the Center for High Performance Computing Erlangen (NHR@FAU) and the Leibniz Computing Center of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences (LRZ) in Garching. It provides researchers at Bavarian universities and colleges free access to state-of-the-art AI computing systems. This infrastructure is part of the Hightech Agenda Bayern and was developed to strengthen scientific AI research in the region. With powerful GPU systems such as the Cerebras CS-2 and several clusters equipped with Nvidia H100 graphics cards (e.g. HELMA, Fritz, Alex, and the LRZ AI Systems), immense computing power is available – ideal for training large AI models, complex simulations, or analyzing large datasets.
The particular added value of BayernKI lies not only in the hardware but also in comprehensive support. Researchers
