Ausführliche Beschreibung

Coscine is a research data management platform that supports researchers in securely, systematically, and collaboratively managing their data throughout the entire project lifecycle. The service accompanies projects from the initial idea to archiving and enables linking research data across various storage systems – such as the Research Data Storage (RDS), GitLab, or external cloud services. Important: Coscine does not store the data directly itself, but acts as a central interface that facilitates collaboration through metadata, persistent identifiers (PIDs), and access rights. This allows researchers to build their projects with clear structures and according to the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) – without having to replace existing tools such as storage space or version control systems.

The greatest value of Coscine lies in the integration and simplification of complex processes. By centrally managing metadata – data about the data – the reusability of research data is significantly increased.
