AusfĂĽhrliche Beschreibung
git.nrw – A central service for digital collaboration at universities in North Rhine-Westphalia
git.nrw is a central, freely available service that provides universities and their members in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) with a modern platform for collaboration in software development, research projects, and teaching. Based on the open-source platform GitLab, git.nrw enables secure and efficient project management through versioning, project management, automated testing (CI/CD), and documentation. The platform serves as a central hub where students, faculty, and researchers from various universities can work together on projects—regardless of their respective institutions. This fosters digital collaboration within the university consortium DH.NRW and strengthens regional innovation capacity.
The central added value of git.nrw lies in creating a shared, sustainable infrastructure. Previously, there were often only local GitLab instances at individual universities, which were secure in terms of data but limited in scope.
