Ausführliche Beschreibung
The Certificate of Advanced Studies Research Data Management (CAS FDM) is a practice-oriented further education program offered by the University of Konstanz, aimed at researchers, data managers, and scientists from all disciplines. The goal of the CAS is to systematically strengthen competencies in handling research data—from planning and documentation to long-term archiving and reuse. The training combines face-to-face events, online learning phases, and project work, enabling participants not only to acquire theoretical knowledge but also to apply it directly within their own research context. Particularly noteworthy is the focus on the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), which ensure that research data remain sustainable, transparent, and usable.
The added value of the CAS FDM lies in its interdisciplinary approach and the integration of theory and practice. Participants learn how to professionally manage research data, implement Open-Science principles, and do so ethically.
