Description

The project "KI and Open Source LLM" at the University of Paderborn provides generative AI models as open-source solutions for teaching and study. The goal is to create a secure, data sovereign, and sustainable infrastructure for using AI technologies at the university. The platform supports educators in creating learning materials and feedback processes, as well as students in practical work with AI. Through local support and training, competencies in working with AI are developed. The main benefits lie in equal opportunities, data security, and long-term, cost-efficient use of AI tools.

Availability: The availability of the Open-Source-LLMs for teaching and study at the University of Paderborn is not time-limited. The models are provided as part of an ongoing project implemented in cooperation between ZIM, PC², and the central unit for educational innovation and university didactics. There are no indications of a beta or pilot status, usage limits, or restrictions. Usage is carried out via a local infrastructure, ensuring availability through the technical operational capability of the university.
